¹⁹ or the sound of a trumpet, or a voice speaking words that made those who heard them beg that nothing more be said to them. ²⁰ For they could not bear to hear the command that was given, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” ²¹ Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses cried out, “I am terrified and trembling.”
